40 new generation KAMAZ electric buses have been delivered to Moscow

KAMAZ handed over 40 more new KAMAZ-52222 A5 generation electric buses to the State Unitary Enterprise Mosgortrans. Taking into account the additional agreement, the total number of innovative vehicles delivered under the contract amounted to 440 units.

Recall that in February 2025, a contract was signed for the supply of 400 KAMAZ-52222 electric buses to the Moscow carrier. Later, the parties signed an additional agreement providing for the transfer of another 40 units of A5 generation vehicles to replenish the fleet of the State Unitary Enterprise Mosgortrans. This agreement has been successfully executed.

Mass production of fifth-generation KAMAZ-52222 electric buses began in 2025 by order of the largest operator of urban land passenger transport in Moscow, SUE Mosgortrans. Unlike KAMAZ-6282 electric bus of 2018 model year, the new model has a range of up to 90 km, is equipped with a more efficient climate system with electric interior heaters, touch-sensitive door opening buttons, and an 18% increased route indicator.

Thus, the design of the doors has changed: the sliding doors open outwards, which eliminates the risk of passengers being trapped. The width of the storage area has been increased to 1,380 mm, which corresponds to the requirements of European standards. There is a special area for wheelchair accommodation. Hand luggage spaces have been increased by 15%.
