The Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant will soon begin equipping vehicles of the new and old UAZ model line-ups with engines of an improved design. Patriot, Pickup, Profi and Bukhanka models will receive improved 2.7-liter ZMZ 409th family engines, Izvestia reports.
The upgraded power unit features a new valve cover with an increased number of attachment points to the cylinder head, including in the spaces between the holes of the spark-plug wells. This will minimize oil leaks at the joints of the parts. In addition, the valve sleeve guides pressed on the new equipment will ensure maximum tightness of the combustion chamber and the efficiency of gas distribution mechanism.
The start of deliveries of upgraded components for the new engine to ZMZ is scheduled for the second quarter of the current year.
