Beginning March, Tutaev Motor Plant, KAMAZ subsidiary in the Yaroslavl region, will begin producing a new product, a pulley block designed to increase the traction capabilities of an automobile winch. According to Vladimir Shchanikov, Chief Engineer at TMZ PTC, the product will be used in vehicles equipped with winches with a force of 20 to 30 tons. It is designed to double the traction capacity of the winch.
In 2025, the plant's technical services studied similar structures that are manufactured in Russia and around the world, and developed a new product that is convenient to operate in harsh conditions. Development work was carried out, and a prototype was produced, which was successfully tested in an accredited laboratory in Yaroslavl and as part of the vehicle at the KAMAZ Scientific and Technical Center. According to test results, the new product is recommended for use in vehicles.
The parts for the polyplast block will be produced in the non-standardized equipment and machine tooling workshop, the machine assembly shop and the iron foundry of TMZ PTC. The winch block will be assembled in the non-standardized equipment and machine tooling workshop.
Serial delivery of the polyplast block to the KAMAZ assembly line is scheduled to start in March.
