In preparation for the start of LADA Azimut production, a high-precision calibre was installed on the model's assembly line to control the geometry of exterior and interior parts.
The calibre is a reference body sample based on a 3D model with an accuracy of 0.2 mm. The standard is made of aluminum and weighs more than 5 tons. By fixing the part to the calibre, specialists can not only visually assess its quality, but also make accurate measurements of the correct fit of components using probes and 3D scanners. More than 800 genuine parts are being developed for LADA Azimut, of which 130 units directly affect the quality of exterior perception.
For the first time, such high-precision calibres were used in the LADA Vesta and LADA Iskra projects.
The calibre is used to accurately mathematically evaluate the perceived quality. Thanks to it, deviations can be objectively identified, and at the pre-production stage, the necessary adjustments can be made to the technology or tooling to ensure that the parts comply with the reference sample.
