The first LADA Niva Travel equipped with 90-HP engine rolled off the AvtoVAZ assembly line
A prototype LADA Niva Travel car with an alternative front bumper and a new unit has rolled off the assembly line of the plant.
According to insiders, this is a restyled version of LADA Niva Travel, equipped with 90-HP air breather unit and an alternative front bumper, similar to that of the experimental e-Niva electric car. It is planned to set up serial production of the model during 2025.
The engine is represented by 8-valve VAZ-21179 modification capacity of 90 HP and 150 Nm of torque, adapted to the longitudinal installation.

The Russian AvtoVAZ automaker has lowered its sales plan for February 2026 by 15%, according to Maxim Sokolov, the company head. Thus, the updated forecasts amount to 20 thousand cars.
Recall that in December 2025, Mr. Sokolov presented a production plan for 2026, amounting to 400 thousand cars. Following results of last year, AvtoVAZ sold 338 thousand LADA cars, which was a 26% decline on 2024, which amounted to 459 thousand cars.

The locally produced Omoda C5 and C7 crossovers have received Vehicle Type Approval,.
So, the assembly of both models will be set up in Kaluga at the former Volkswagen plant, where Tenet cars are now being produced. The brand column also includes the Jeland brand, recently introduced by AGR Holding.
