The anniversary Lada Niva Legend rolled off the AVTOVAZ assembly line

On April 5, 2022, serial production of VAZ-2121 "Niva" SUV, which is currently being sold under the Lada Niva Legend name will mark its 45th anniversary. A total of about 2.5 million units of this model rolled off the assembly lines during this time, about 700 thousand of which were exported.
"Niva" became the first production model fully developed by independent efforts of engineers of the Volga Automobile Plant. The combination of technical solutions used in it was innovative for SUVs of that time.
In particular, the model received a load-bearing body, differential permanent all-wheel drive, independent front suspension, front disc brakes and a high-speed power unit.

AvtoVAZ has applied for registration of the updated Niva trademark, according to FIPS data.
The new name is expected to be used for the sale of cars and spare parts for them.
Recall that the LADA Parus trademark was also patented in Russia, which is expected to serve as the name for one of AvtoVAZ's future models.
