Nissan will complete production of Datsun cars in Russia in December

Russian Automotive Market Research

Nissan announced its intention to restructure business in Russia.

As part of the new strategy, production of Datsun cars at AVTOVAZ plant in Togliatti will be completed in December 2020. The company will continue to provide after-sales service and spare parts sales for Datsun owners through the network of authorized Nissan dealerships. The warranty policy will remain unchanged. This decision does not affect other markets, in which the brand is presented, and does not affect Infiniti's operations in Russia.

The company will focus on updating models in the B-SUV, C-SUV and D-SUV segments. Both new models and updated versions of Qashqai, X-Trail and Murano crossovers and SUVs already presented in the Russian Nissan line-up will appear in the market. All of them will be equipped with advanced Nissan technologies as part of the NIM (Nissan Intelligent Mobility) strategy: the new generation driver assistance system and modern connectivity capabilities (which provide communication between the car and other road users, as well as infrastructure facilities). The main driving force for implementation of the future plan will be Nissan's production facilities and Research Center in Saint Petersburg.

In addition, according to the new plan and the brand's global strategy, Nissan plans to bring the new electric car to the Russian market in the coming years.
