In August, LADA carried out modernization and maintenance of all production lines, including the Izhevsk plant and the enterprise producing special purpose vehicles and automotive components.
The main objective of this step is to improve product quality and reduce production costs for key models. Thus, automating the loading of body sidewalls in the LADA Granta welding shop will improve production efficiency. The manufacture of the LADA Iskra body floor is now carried out using robots. In addition, new paint chambers were installed for the production of both models and robots were replaced for applying paint coatings.
For the production of LADA Vesta, a robotic body floor welding system was also installed and robots on the entire body welding line were upgraded. For the LADA NIVA assembly, the floor conveyor was overhauled, the welding line was upgraded, and the paint preparation systems were improved. The work in the engine assembly shop was aimed at ensuring the production of a new 1.8-liter engine.
