MAZ-54A02N tractor unit running on liquefied natural gas (LNG) is being tested for the first time in the Far East. The pilot operation is carried out by Gazprom Helium Service. MAZ vehicles are integrated into production processes and perform daily transport tasks at the Logistics Center for processing insulated containers, as well as participate in the delivery of LNG fuel to the company's own filling stations.
As part of the tests, the vehicle is involved in logistics routes from Vladivostok to the Amur region. The pilot operation period is 11 months, of which part has already been completed in the active operation mode. This period will make it possible to comprehensively assess the vehicle adaptability to the company's working conditions.
MAZ LNG tractor unit is equipped with 12-speed robotized gear box with a retarder. The total volume of cryogenic tanks is 930 liters. The heavy-duty vehicle complies with international ADR standards.
