In preparation for the mass production of the new LADA Azimut crossover, AVTOVAZ is carrying out a large-scale modernization of welding production. One of the key stages of the capacity upgrade was the introduction of laser welding technology, which will bring the quality of bodywork to a new level while maintaining durability.

For the first time in AVTOVAZ's practice, a version with a standard panoramic roof and a sunroof will appear for LADA Azimut. Laser welding is used to connect the components of the panoramic roof at points that are critical to maintaining a given body geometry. The total length of laser seams is 18 cm, which further eliminates leaks and guarantees reliable operation of the mechanisms. Moreover, the new technology makes it possible to achieve high body strength and torsional rigidity.

The laser welding equipment is designed and manufactured by the Russian supplier.
