AvtoVAZ has revealed details of preparations for the mass production of Lada Azimut crossover, including the transition to LED optics.
All lighting for the Russian auto giant's first crossover has been switched to LEDs – from the headlights to the interior lighting. Mass production of optics is carried out at the Togliatti enterprise Lighting Solutions, where the largest three-color parts molding machine in Russia has been launched for the project. The injection molding machine, heating the material to 240 degrees, produces a finished set of parts every 2 minutes without intermediate operations.
To control the lighting quality, the plant purchased a luminance meter-colorimeter. Engineers checked the brightness of each lamp and button, in some cases reducing the light intensity intentionally to match modern design trends and reduce the visual load on the driver at night.
