KAMAZ and its authorized partner, Kuzovstroitel LLC, have launched a tow truck on the next-generation K5 chassis. The new model of special purpose vehicle was presented at the "Big City Ecology" Saint Petersburg International Environmental Forum.
The novelty is based on the high-tech 4-axle KAMAZ-65951 chassis of the latest K5 generation. KAMAZ-65951 has a gross vehicle weight of 50 tons, with the front axles supporting up to 18 tons and the rear bogie supporting up to 32 tons. During the tow truck development, Kuzovstroitel specialists increased the wheelbase to 6,000 mm. This configuration allows for efficient load distribution between the four axles and ensures stability when operating heavy-duty wrecker equipment.
The vehicle is also equipped with a modern KAMAZ R6 diesel engine with a maximum capacity of 483 HP. The 16-speed manual gear box's torque allows for towing loads weighing up to 60 tons. The pneumatic brake system with EBS and an electronically controlled parking brake meets modern safety standards. The comfortable cabin is equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable driver experience. The 8x4 wheel arrangement ensures excellent off-road capability and versatility.
