Starting from February 2, 2026, Hyperbus gas-powered bus by Volgabus began operating on the streets of Chelyabinsk in a test mode.

There are 51 seats in the bus, which is 90% more than in a standard 12-meter low-floor bus.

The bus runs on eco-friendly compressed natural gas. Due to the thruster axle, it has the same maneuverability as the shorter models.

The new vehicle will serve route No. 4 "Mamina Street — Gagarin Park". Hyperbus accommodates a total of 130 passengers. The bus will be tested for three weeks. Further, taking into account the opinion of the operating organization and passengers, the issue of purchasing Hyperbus buses for several urban routes will be resolved.
