Gazprom Helium Service has increased the fleet of KAMAZ vehicles 15-fold in 5 years

In 2021, Gazprom Helium Service, KAMAZ partner, began forming the fleet of long-haul tractor units running on liquefied natural gas (LNG). By that day, the company's fleet had increased 15-fold and totaled 273 modern KAMAZ LNG tractor units.

The first batch of 18 Russian KAMAZ-5490 NEO mono-fuel tractor units arrived at the site of the Logistics Center for Helium Container Service in the Primorsky region on March 31, 2021. Today, 273 modern KAMAZ LNG tractor units have been already operating in the Gazprom Helium Service fleet. The flagships of the fleet are KAMAZ-54901 LNG tractor units of the new K5 generation, developed by the leader of the Russian truck industry on behalf of Gazprom.

KAMAZ-54901 running on liquefied natural gas is a gas-powered version of the first model of the high-tech K5 line-up of vehicles. In this version, the tractor unit is equipped with KAMAZ R6 (Euro-5) gas engine capacity of 460 HP, automatic gear box and two cryotanks holding 1,060 liters of liquefied natural gas. The use of LNG significantly reduces the owner's fuel costs with a range of up to 1,600 km with one refuel.
