Foton will produce trucks for Russia

Russian Automotive Market Research

The Chinese state-owned Beiqi Foton Motor company intends to localize the production of pickups and medium-duty trucks in Russia.

At the moment, the model line-up of the Chinese brand in Russia is represented by medium-duty trucks of the S series, Auman tractor unit, as well as Tunland pickup and Sauvana co-platform SUV.

Foton Motor LLC has far-reaching plans for the development of sales of Foton cars in the Russian Federation. However, in order to get maximum profit, it is necessary to localize production on the territory of the Russian Federation. So, it was decided to conclude a long-term contract for the production of Foton Tunland series pickups and Foton S100 and S120 series trucks with a major automaker. Currently, Foton Tunland pickup is available in the Russian market only with 2.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel engine developing 163 HP and 360 Nm of torque.
