AvtoVAZ is releasing a new engine for LADA Niva

AvtoVAZ has launched the assembly of new powertrains for LADA Niva, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports, citing the company's official VKontakte page.

This is 1.8-liter, 90-HP VAZ-11184 engine. Its assembly is now taking place on a modernized line previously used only for 16-valve engines. It is equipped with new automated workbenches, including stations for pressing valve stem seals, valve drying, sealant application, and valve bedding. All assembly stages are monitored by a system that interrupts the process if any error is detected.

For the new engine, the plant has added five automated and nine manual workbenches. Components are delivered automatically using ANT-trolleys. Each powertrain undergoes multi-stage testing, including hot testing and leak testing of the lubrication and cooling systems.
