AvtoVAZ has mastered a new technology for manufacturing a soft shell of interior elements for the Russian automotive industry called slush skin, the company's press service reports. It was used in the production of the front panel for the new LADA Azimut crossover.

The quality is monitored at several production stages, the company added. Engineers check the thickness and weight of each soft shell, while the finished panel is installed on a control gauge, where its geometry is checked for compliance with the specified parameters.

Recall that earlier, AvtoVAZ announced the launch date of LADA Azimut production.
