The Avtotor plant in Kaliningrad will launch its own production of ferrous and non-ferrous castings, Gazeta.ru reports with reference to the company president Denis Pak.

According to Mr. Pak, the matter concerns components for electric vehicles - electric motors and hybrid powertrains, gear boxes and power electronics. In addition, it is planned to localize the production of internal combustion engines for conventional gasoline models, as well as automated transmissions, steering and braking systems.

Recall that earlier the company announced plans to release the first localized vehicle, which will be an urban electric car similar to Class A in size.
