Changan Concern officially entered the Kazakhstan market in the second half of 2022. It was at the same time that a distribution agreement for the supply of finished cars, as well as a memorandum on the participation of a Chinese partner in the large and strategically significant project for the construction of a full-cycle multi-brand plant in the industrial zone of Almaty, was signed between the Kazakh company Astana Motors and the Chinese manufacturer.
Now cars arrive in Kazakhstan directly from the plants in China. Such a logistics route makes it possible to maintain regular deliveries and ensure the availability of cars in dealerships. Changan chose the most popular models from its line-up to launch in the Kazakh market – these are CS35Plus and CS55Plus compact crossovers, CS75FL mid-size crossover, as well as the technological flagship of the UNI-K brand.
As for cars under the Changan brand, but marked "made in Kazakhstan", their production will be launched in two years - tentatively at the beginning of 2025. Cars of two more Chinese brands will also be produced using the CKD method with body welding and painting at the facilities of a multi-brand plant, the total capacity of the enterprise will allow to produce up to 90 thousand cars per year.
